[Movies] Short Circuit Reboot News
Posted by Larry Csonka on 06.04.2009

According to Variety, Dan Milano (Robot Chicken) has been brought in to work on the reboot of Short Circuit. The reboot will still follow the basic story of a military robot who develops a personality, but with a subversive edge to the original film. There is no word on Steve Guttenberg involvement in the project.

Producer David Foster spoke on the reboot, saying…

"We're bringing Number 5 into the 21st Century. And taking advantage of improvements in robotics that are so massive that robots are now performing heart surgeries in hospitals."

As for any similarities to Wall-E, Foster states…

"We think of Wall-E as an extended trailer for our film, because it's the same face."

Is this reboot gonna have the "dark" edge to mirror the success of The Dark Night? (sarcasm). Look if you assholes need movie ideas there are thousands of novels that aren't movies yet.

I think a far better movie could be made about the original model in the world of today.

Guest#0444: I agree, there are plenty of stories that haven't been adapted into movies. Problem is, that would require these douche bags to actually crack a book and read, rather than just sitting on the shitter thinking about what movies/tv shows from their childhood they really dug. Pathetic.

The 1st one was a pure classic of 80's crap! That's what made it sooo GREAT!

I love how Hollywood banks entire movies on the possibility of a few more people going "Oh hey I remember 'Short Circuit'."

One of my favorite movies when I was a kid- the best part in Short Circuit 2 was when he put all that crap on himself from Radio Shack when Oscar pissed him off

"We think of Wall-E as an extended trailer for our film, because it's the same face."

So the people behind this are blind as well as mentally challenged.
